14 Mar How Christian Churches Should Deal With The Corona Virus Threat
A MESSAGE FROM OUR SENIOR PASTOR (14 March 2020)
Dear Victory Family,
We love you and pray for those of you we see every week. God has amazing plans for you.
Recently, the Corona virus that originated from China has spread across the world. The media, news channels, and even train operators have been blasting us with fearful words about the growing threat. The illness has spread from China to Korea, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Italy and nearly every nation of the world.
As Christians, the Bible tells us to be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves in Matthew 10:16. We need to be smart. The media is blasting out fear, but we are of strong Bible faith, and we are world over-comers. We are not full of fear. Regardless, there are some things we can do to avoid getting sick.
- Wash our hands frequently
- Avoid being around sick people
- Eat healthy natural foods, drink 1.5 liters of water a day, and exercise 3 or more days a week for at least 30 minutes to get your heart rate up.
- Stay home and rest if you feel sick (cough, fever, sore throat, soreness, etc). Drink lots of water and get lots of sleep.
The Bible teaches us in Hebrews 10:27 that believers are to gather together and build each other up. If you don’t feel well, it’s fine to stay home from church. Watch us on streaming live! (However, not going to a strong faith church regularly will make you weak).
Several local churches (especially those that don’t own their own spaces) have been forced to cancel their weekly events. Thankfully, VWC has got Victory Place Building and we have to prayerfully make decisions for ourselves.
As believers thrive through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, we sense the current situation does not warrant canceling our Sunday worship. We have consulted local medical professionals and confirmed our thinking. If you are not feeling well, or uncomfortable, please feel free to watch our live stream here.
Victory Word Church will worship on Sunday! We look forward to seeing you there! God richly bless the Victory Family!
