Me, A Servant?
John 13:3-4
3Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. NKJV

Power, revenge, strong words, these are things that the world thinks are something that is so glorious. However they get it all wrong. It is not strength through being peaceful, it is peace through strength. The Creator of the universe came to die on our behalf. King Jesus is the Creator of our world. Jesus had the power and authority so only he could lay it down for us. John 1:10 says,
10He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. NKJV

King Jesus the Messiah, had all authority, all power, had everything, but He loved us. He loved you, His creation. Before his death and resurrection, He didn’t ask to be served, He set the example showing that He would serve and washed the feet of His friends. Can you believe that? Was that the world’s sign of power to serve people less powerful than you? Absolutely not. We’ve had cycles of different peoples and their empire building. We’ve had the Vikings, the Roman empire, the Portuguese explorers, the Spanish conquerors, and even of recent, the British and now the American empires. There has been good and bad throughout the ages, but much of the expansion has been built on ruling over others.

As believers, we will rule and reign with Him. However, God’s Kingdom is about serving others even though He has given us all authority. That is why Jesus gave this example to His disciples, His friends. If we love others then we care for and serve them.

Watching an action movie, you see the same story line repeatedly. Some retired military guy is just trying to retire from the fighting. He settles down in some small town somewhere and has a few years of quiet. Then out of the blue, one of his family members is kidnapped or captured by the bad guys from his past. He then has to pull out his ‘big guns’ and go after the bad guys to save his family. Although it might work in a movie, in real life it is really malarkey and meaningless. This must contribute to the vengeful and violent people in our generation, you hear about people committing ‘random acts of violence’ in the news.

God’s kingdom is not about violence. We are to commit ‘random acts of goodness’. It is built into our nature. When you do good and show love to others you feel so good. When you see someone at your church who has been away for awhile, just talking them and giving them an encouraging word can bring them back from the brink. When a friend needs a job, helping them to get their resume together and find those opportunities is so good. Invest in the orphans by volunteering some time regularly at a local orphanage. Remember, if you don’t do it who will? If you want to be a good leader, you need to be a good follower first. As we will reign with Him, we need to learn to be good servants. Are you serving others? Start today!

Your Heavenly Mansion
John 14:1-4
1"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know." NKJV

We need to get a revelation, we’ve go to realize that heaven is a real place. It is more real that the sky above you and the earth below you.

If you haven’t got a good study Bible, I highly recommend you get one, especially works put together by Spirit-filled committed Christians. One day I remember reading in my Dakes study Bible about heaven. Mr. Dakes had notes in the side margin of my Bible on heaven. He said one thing that really surprised me. He said, “Heaven is a planet” and went on to describe how heaven is a spiritual and a physical place directly North of the North pole, above the earth. As I read more and more about heaven and the supporting scriptures I got more and more interested in heaven.

Heaven is a real place and it is where you and I will go when our spirit/soul leaves our body. Where we live now is an imperfect copy of heaven. In heaven we have buildings, trees, streets, rivers, people, animals... buildings? Yes, before King Jesus told us He is the only way to God and heaven in John 14:6, He told his friends that He would be leaving the earth to prepare mansions for those who believe in Him and repent and turn from their wrong ways.

In Japanese, the word mansion is misused as it means a purchased condominium or apartment type of housing with many people living in the same high-rise building. I have heard them being called multi-dwelling units or MDUs. In California, a mansion is a massive private house in a prime location. It is usually very spacious with many rooms, gardens, trees, exterior buildings, and owned by someone with a lot of financial power.

When Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us, He was not talking about an MDU. He was talking about a nice place. As a matter of fact, we will have the nicest places you could ever imagine and we will be there for ever once all the unbelievers are separated from the believers.

Get a revelation of heaven. Pick up your Bible and a good concordance and find every scripture on heaven. You will discover we are running out of time. We’ve got to introduce as many people to Jesus as we can. Jesus is coming back soon! In 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 you can see one how Jesus will come back. It says,
16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. NKJV

Jesus is coming soon! Are you ready?

What Is Holiness?
1 Thessalonians 4:7
7For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. NKJV

Have you ever met a perfect person? Yes, only one! His Name is King Jesus the Messiah. He is perfect, He is good, He is holy. There is no one like Him. But yet the Bible says we are to be holy. What is this holiness we are talking about here?

Back in the 1930s and 1940s people became disillusioned with denominations. Denominations of Christian groups such as Baptists, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Quaker, Christian Missionary Alliance and many organizations that had formed. If a group of believers becomes so organized that they begin to organize the Holy Spirit out of their meetings, and neglect being Spirit-led in their daily lives, then they are heading towards spiritual shipwreck. Being a believer is a personal decision, so if you go to a church where no one knows God, then what is the point?

Many people left denominations, ministries, and churches and began to start what were no longer of the mainstream denominations. In the late 1940s and 1950s groups like the Assemblies of God, the Foursquare, and many others began to sprout up as people began to realize that they must experience Pentecost on a personal level. They also realized there was a benefit to being organized but led by the Spirit of God.

There arose a movement called the Holiness movement. From my studies of the history, it was not any particular organization or group that was the leader in this movement. It was a number of groups. These days, many older ministers joke about it, but what many of these people thought was a sign of holiness was their outward appearance. Women were encouraged to grow out their hair long, go without wearing any makeup, and encouraged not to talk or lead in the church. Although the way you dress and look is important as a representative of the Kingdom of God on this earth, holiness starts on the inside. Romans 6:22-23 says,
22But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. NKJV

Holiness is devotion to God. It is saying no to overeating because you know your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is setting your computer so you will not ‘accidentally’ hit a pornography site on the internet. It is refusing to blow up emotionally, just because someone did something to make you angry. It is not taking company equipment from the workplace home because you now that would not honor God. Holiness is refusing to do something just because others are doing it. Our holiness is summed up well in 2 Corinthians 7:1,
1Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. NKJV

God has called you to holiness. We can only be holy because He is holy. Without Him we are hopelessly lost. Though Him your holiness becomes perfected.

Who Is This God That We Serve?
Mark 12:26
26But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? NKJV

In these days that we live in, we see the majority of the world is monotheistic. Mono meaning one, and theism meaning god or deity. However, over the thousands of years that the Bible was being recorded, the majority of that people of that time were polytheistic. Poly meaning many or multiple. In this case, multiple gods or deities. If you asked the people of the time that had various gods for very things, they had gods of thunder, the sea, war, prosperity, birthing, the sun, the moon, and whatever else they saw in nature around them.

If you remember that the times of Joseph, Egypt had the sun god. The Greeks had a messenger god, a war god, a wine god, and many others. Abraham came from Ur which was known for praying to the moon. I suppose if you are going to make anything a god the sun and moon are going to be the most reliable since everyone sees them.

Abraham was one man who acted in faith by hearing God’s voice and obeying. God built a whole nation through the faith of one unbeliever who believed. The whole purpose of this nation Israel was to bring forth the Messiah to redeem the whole world.

You can pray to some man-made creation if you like but you’re missing the whole point if you do that. How do we know? What makes being a committed Christian different? Well, look at how believers identified themselves. They introduced themselves the way God told them to introduce themselves. They didn’t say I serve some sun or moon “god”. They used God’s queue that they saw at the burning bush. I serve the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Are you seeing it? He wants to connect on a personal level with people.

It is okay to read quoted prayers. In modern times, for some reason believers think that they have to pray impromptu prayers. That is not true. You can read a prepared prayer. If you are Spirit-filled and you pray with power, there is going to be power in that prayer. As a matter of fact, early pastors would write up prayers for their church family to help us to pray. I use a prayer confession of scriptures I heard from a minister in the US. I customized it for myself and pray that almost every day. It really helps me to enter into God’s presence because His Word is powerful. When you pray God’s Word, you will notice a major difference. Just like Joseph in Genesis 50:24, you can know that God is going to bring you out.
24And Joseph said to his brethren, "I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob." NKJV

He will accomplish His Word, the one and true Almighty God. He wants to get personal with you!

White Magic?
Deuteronomy 18:12-13
12For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. NKJV

When I was growing up, I saw people playing a board game that was demonically controlled. We all knew it was wrong and I avoided it like the plague. It seemed that everyone really wanted to know about their future. Sometimes they look to the ‘arrangement of the stars’ and they look at predictions about their lives in the newspaper each day or even on the internet. In Japan, many people go to palm readers. These people will tell you your future based on the wrinkles in the palm of your hand. It is fortune telling and it is demonic. Demons want to control you so they can steal from you and ultimately kill you.

From the very beginning, the Word is really clear. We are to stay away from the magic, the occult, and spiritualists. They are not just ugly to God, but they are an abomination before Him. Read the first part of that passage in Deuteronomy 18:10-11
10There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. NKJV

By allowing magic, spiritists, astrologists, witch doctors and others to tell you what the demons are telling them, you are opening yourself up to the enemy. The Bible says it is giving a foothold. There is no such thing as white or black magic.

When I think of a rock climber climbing up a sheer cliff, it is near impossible if the upgrade is smooth, clean, and clear. Rock climbers are looking for a foothold to get their hand and feet into so they can scale the stone wall. A foothold is different shape, an overhang, a flaw of some sort to get then hand or foot into to give them leverage.

Don’t give the enemy a foothold in your life. If you have footholds, then pray this prayer.

Father God, I thank you for saving me as I have repented and turned from my wrong ways. Right now I break the power of the enemy in my life. I renounce my involvement with magic, the occult, fortunetelling, or any other activity that would separate me from you. I ask your forgiveness now in the powerful name of Jesus my Messiah.

Don’t stop at this prayer. Now take out and burn anything you have in your house that has anything to do with that life. Burn the books, the music and absolutely anything and everything you’ve got. Tell your pastor, ask for his help in standing against the enemy. I have seen the most effective breaking of the enemies chains through publicly renouncing the enemy at your Bible-believing, Holy Spirit filled church.

God is the god of the breakthrough! Being filled with His Spirit you will know your future because He is holds our future.

Free From the Enemy
1 John 3:8
8He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. NKJV

“In the beginning was Love, and Love was with God, and Love was God.” When you read John 1 replacing ‘Word’ with ‘Love’ you can see God’s love for His people. God is all about love. You see that in John 3 as well. If you have an open heart, you have potential. A well-known religious leader came to King Jesus in John 3. He had seen the miracles, he saw the healings, but to him probably the most amazing thing was that the Messiah taught with authority. Many people like teaching, they like to stand up in front of people and get attention but that does not necessarily mean that they are called to do that or even have the authority to do that. Jesus was different, He was man, He is God. He is love.

In the 1960s, love was mistaken for peace on earth, false feeling through substance abuse (drugs and alcohol) and promiscuous sexual intercourse. This is not love. Love is an intense feeling of deep affection.

I love my wife more than anything. I will do whatever I can to take care of her. Before we married, part of the reason I knew I loved her was because she was the first lady I always wanted to be with. I enjoyed her bubbly personality, her good looks, and love for God. I had and have a feeling of deep affection for my wife. The love that King Jesus has for me is what mathematicians would say is ‘multiple factors’ of the love I have for my wife. He loves you so much more. He will protect me and keep me as I have submitted to Him.

Before Jesus came I was tied up to the world’s way of doing things. The enemy has deceived much of the world so people are following their lusts (doing whatever they want to do). Lust leads to bondage. Love is freedom.

Jesus came to free us from bondage so that we don’t have to live like the world. In 1 John 3:8 we see that Jesus came not only to bring us peace, but He came to break us free. In order to do so, He had to destroy the works of the enemy. What are the works of the enemy?

The enemy lies, cheats, steals, deceives, and kills. He and his hoard wants to control you. They’ll do it through whatever weakness you have. If you have been open to homosexual sin, then that is how he’ll try to control you. If you are a bit of a kleptomaniac (someone who steals for the thrill of it) then this is how the demons will try to control you. The list goes on and on, for murderers, liars, gluttons, drugs, alcohol, fornication, and so forth. The enemy has been working hard to control you.

Today is the day for your freedom. Today is the day to break free. Jesus loves you and wants to break you free from the works of the enemy. As a matter of fact, King Jesus has already done everything to break you free from sin, sickness and death. He has already done it. Now the choice is yours, and it is a daily choice.

He Is Coming Back Soon, Are You Ready?
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. NKJV

How big your business is? It doesn’t matter. How many cars you own? It doesn’t matter. Where you live? It doesn’t matter. How tall you are? It doesn’t matter. The most important question you have to answer that will affect everything else is this, “Do you know Jesus and have you turned from your evil ways and submitted all you have to Him or not?” That’s it. That’s everything. If your answer to this question is no, then you are in trouble. If your friend or family member’s answer to this question is no, then all is lost.

Jesus is coming back soon. No one knows for sure what day, or even what year He will return to receive His people. But the Word tells us that we will be able to tell by the times we live in. Check out 2 Timothy 3:1-5 which says.
1But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! NKJV

This really shows me that we are really getting towards the end. For those born in the 1960s and 1970s we have seen an drastic change in the moral fabric of our society. People have become more and more focused on “me”. That means they put themselves before anything else. If you read verses 1-5 and you think about the history of things, it is almost scary to see how much things have actually changed.

People have become very self-centered. Concerned about pleasing themselves more than caring for others. It has come to the point where people in sexual sin are trying to get people to accept them. The whole concept of freedom has been twisted from being able to do whatever they wanted to take care of their families to doing things that are illegal, immoral, and even wicked to other people.

This is not something we should be surprised about as believers. It is prophesied in Timothy over a thousand years ago. We knew it was coming. What do we do about it? We continue to act as a light in the darkness even though the earth grows spiritually darker. However, more importantly, you should use it as a reminder that King Jesus is coming back soon. Jesus is coming back soon.

We can’t sit around. We can’t just dig a cellar and hide there until Jesus comes back. We must tell people about Jesus before it is too late for them. Whether or not they chose The Way, we have to tell them. If you don’t tell them, who will?

From Timothy, I am absolutely convinced that we are living in the last days because of what I see going on around me. Jesus is coming back soon. So soon. Won’t you turn to Him today? Won’t you tell someone about how He loves them? After all, it about being with Jesus forever or being separated from Him forever.... It’s about life or death.
