Seeing God’s Glory
John 11:40 | |
| 40 | Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" NKJV At a recent reception for a law firm, I met a man from Manchester, England. He was a tall guy with a thick English accent. He was of tall build and well presented. That night he was talking about a sportsman from England that died at a young age. This man had been the model of physical fitness winning awards and being a famous crew member in rowing that was knighted by British Royalty. However, he got cancer and slowly shriveled up and died at only 62 years of age. The English guy said, “I hate to sound fatalistic, but we never now when we are going to go”. That was an opportunity to share Jesus with this man. As I knew this man from before, I took a deep breath and said, “Yes, your physical condition is important, as you pointed out. However, you spiritual condition is even more important than your physical condition. If you know Jesus, you know where you are going and there is nothing to fear.” He responded, “I was born a Christian, but I am not practicing”. I felt the Holy Spirit’s direction and replied, “The is no such thing as being born a Christian”. I shared a bit about Jesus but sensed there was no openness with this man. He heard briefly about Jesus and how God had an awesome plan for him. Praise God for that perfect chance. In perhaps a combination of alcohol and a bit pride he said, “My mother was Roman catholic, and my father was protestant and they both pushed me to go to church when I was young. I chose not to.” and he walked away. Although it was sad to see this man not believe at that moment, having a follower of Jesus plant a seed of the Gospel in his heart is something that will grow. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would draw him into the Way of Jesus the Messiah. When you think about it, living the Way all comes down to believing. When Jesus was talking to Martha about her brother who had been dead for four days, He encouraged her to believe and she would see they glory. If you believe in Him, you WILL see the glory of God in your life! There is a condition here. You must believe. Look at it from the other side. If you don’t believe, you won’t see the glory. An Israeli King told his people. In 2 Chronicles 20:20 |
| 20 | Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper." NKJV He told them to believe Yahweh, and they would prosper (Isn’t prosperity seeing His glory when we use it for His Kingdom?). Remember the woman with the son who fed Elijah? She heard the word of the Lord through Elijah and what did she do? 1 Kings 17:15 says, |
| 15 | So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. NKJV Are you seeing it? She believed God and it benefited her whole family. If you want God in your life the key is believing. What is believing? Believing is faith! Faith is the substance of what you are hoping for, the evidence of the unseen. Faith is believing. When you believe God...not just repenting and turning to Jesus. When you believe God...not just going to church. When you believe God... not just faithfully tithing. When you believe God... not just praying for the sick and watching them recover. When you believe God...not just sharing your blessings with others. When you believe God you will see all these things and so much more. This is the glory of God. We have to remember, if you are not believing God, then you will see nothing. Be like the woman who listened to Elijah, she believed and was divinely fed for weeks even in a time of famine. Be like the blind man who went to wash out the mud Jesus put on his eyes. He literally saw the glory. Hallelujah! Believe and see the glory of God in your life. Today’s Reading- |

A Life Of More Than Just Things
John 11:25 | |
| 25 | Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. NKJV Ah the life! I met a lawyer who had a couple houses North of Seattle, a boat on the Puget Sound as well as a boat down in Yokohama. He was a graduate of University of Washington and Cambridge University near Boston. He seemed to have everything but yet I detected he was missing one thing. He was missing life in King Jesus. We all have a limited time on the earth. Yes, it is great to have a lot of stuff, but if we’ve not turned to Jesus we are so lost. Yes, going out on the boat on the weekend must be glorious. And I am sure buying and selling these properties around the world must be exciting. However, you won’t catch me missing a chance to be in God’s house on Sunday for a boat, a visit to the vacation home, or anything else. I would rather spend 5 minutes in the presence of the Holy Spirit than get 1 million dollars is what Smith Wigglesworth said back in the early 1900s. That lawyer was in his mid-sixties. For the average American male he may have 10 possibly 15 years of life left in him. When he dies, what does it matter what he has if he doesn’t know Jesus? I have noticed when you talk about death, people become either fearful or apathetic. I have no patience with apathetic people because they will go no where, they will do nothing, and they will blame it on someone else. But for those that remain fearful, they have good reason. If you don’t repent your wrong ways and turn to Jesus, you will be forever separated into hell forever and ever. People are fearful of death, because they don’t know what is going to happen to them and rightly so. I think they are fearful because deep down they know that something is wrong. A group from a cult calling themselves Christians visited a Spirit-filled church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The young men from this group were moved by the Word of God. At that service 5 of them were born again. Hallelujah! They went back to the college of their group in their home state. They shared with their professors how they were born again (or born from above). A professor of their college called the pastor of the Tulsa church and invited him to come speak to the class. They pastor saw that it was a ‘set-up’ to discredit the Gospel, but after prayer he decided to go. He accepted the invitation. He came into the large college class and started by saying, “Your professor has graciously offered me two hours to describe what it means to be born again. Now, I don’t know your books but I do know the Word of God. I can tell you from the Word of God what it is to be born again in 15 minutes. Therefore, I will leave the remaining time for questions and answers.” He proceeded to tell them about being born again and how all me must be saved. Then he opened up for questions. One of the first questions was, “Why must you be born again?” He replied, born again believers will be with God in heaven for eternity, those who don’t believe will be eternally separated from them in hell. When he said this, the students and those in the classroom laughed. He stopped and asked them why they were laughing. One of the students went on to describe how their group believed that hell does not exist. The pastor moved by the Spirit then asked, “So, why do you send out missionaries then?” Everyone in the large classroom was dumbfounded and no one knew how to respond including the group’s professor. If you are studying the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will give you the Word’s to say even if you are surrounded by people who deny God or His Word. Life without Jesus is not life at all. When you believe on Him, everything changes for you. It doesn’t matter what you have, but it does matter who you know. If you don’t know Jesus personally, then you are still stuck in the fouled up, dethroned state of Adam and Eve. Death came through Adam. Romans 5:17 says, |
| 17 | For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. NKJV You’ve got life! You’ve got to share that life that you’ve got through Jesus with both the rich and the poor. They may or may not understand. They will understand if they want to. John 1:4-5 says |
| 4 | In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. NKJV Jesus is our life, and He is our light. Those who come to the light will be completely changed into His perfect image. Be blessed, prosper, and rule and reign as God’s children on the earth. Show the people around you, His love, His forgiveness, His kindness, His peace, and His prosperity in your life. People will notice and those who are willing, will come to Him because of His light in you! Today’s Reading- |

Are You Spiritually Sick Or Healthy?
Job 3:25 | |
| 25 | For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me. NKJV If I want to gauge the spiritual health of an older believer, the big question is “What about Job?” There are so many people who have gone to church and been totally messed up by some well-meaning, but completely wrong, minister regarding God. They think that God is some ogre in heaven that beats up His children, makes them sick, and let’s them get abused by the world because He is ‘trying to teach them something’. That is such total tommyrot! The usual example that is brought up is Job. In the Old Testament, Job was famous as being totally blessed and prosperous. We hear the story how the enemy comes in and asks God’s permission to attack Job. This is where the problem comes. People see God saying “Go ahead, attack Job”. Actually, if you want to know the true cause of the problem, you need to know what was going on in Job’s life. It is the same as any person around you. If you are spiritually sick, it was you that got YOU there. Just because someone who comes to your church got hit by a car, doesn’t mean “God allows it”. That is a complete and total cop out. If you read Job 3:25 you see he says, “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me”. First of all, if you aren’t living by faith (believing and trusting God daily) then it is likely that you are living in fear. Job was clearly living in fear. When you live in fear, you are opening yourself up to the enemy for attack. Faith pleases God, fear separates from Him. We’ve got to remember Hebrew 11:6, |
| 6 | But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. NKJV If you are in fear, you can’t please God. Somewhere along the way, you are going to get out of sync with God. “I am worried, the airplane may crash”, “Oh, God give us traveling mercies”, “I am worried about my kids, what if they get in trouble or hurt themselves?” and the list goes on. When you get in fear, you easily get into the flesh. Being in the flesh means, you are more concerned about the physical than the spiritual. Romans 8:8 says |
| 8 | So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. NKJV When I asked the Holy Spirit to teach me about how Job opened himself up to attack, He showed me Job 3:25, then showed me Job 1:5 which says |
| 5 | So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly. NKJV The Holy Spirit showed me that there was fear in Job’s life. There was fear that his family would do something wrong or evil. Yeah, it looked all holy to be doing those sacrifices for him, but rather than praying for protection and then thanking God for the protection, he ripped up his faith sacrifice because he knew his family was doing something wrong and there was fear in his life. In chapter three, we see really what was in his heart. Job was spiritually sick. Maybe you have been thinking you are fine because you are going to church or talk to believers. Really, you know you are spiritually sick. Don’t let things go until the enemy attacks or sickness or death comes. Stand up, go deeper with Him and go after Him with everything you’ve got. King Jesus teaches us His plan for us, and how to pray for ourselves in The Lord’s Prayer. Remember Matthew 6:10 where He says to pray, |
| 10 | Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. NKJV Is there sickness, defeat, suffering, starvation, pain, or anything else in heaven? Resoundingly, no! These things are on the earth though, that is why we are told to pray for what we have in heaven not on earth. Today’s Reading- |

Common To Higher Ground
1 Cor 9:19 | |
| 19 | For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; NKJV This world is filled with religion. Everyone knows that there is a God, but the vast majority don’t really know Him. That is why you know Him, to tell the world. Jesus commanded us to go into all the world. |
Matt 28:19-20 | |
| Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." NKJV We’ve got to get the Word out there. We’ve got to step out and tell people about Jesus. The origin of much of religion is demonic. It is from the enemy trying to distract people from coming into the true saving grace of Jesus. When a religion is violent and oppressive, those evil origins are very clear. We have to remember however, that many normal people get caught up in these religions just because of being born in a certain geographical area. Paul said, “I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more”. He didn’t come against the violent groups with violence. He came to the unbelievers after studying them and their ways. He looked for common ground. If you are sharing Jesus with a person from the Roman church, you know they pray to Mary (the woman who birthed the Messiah) but don’t start by criticizing their error. You can start by talking about how wonderful a woman Mary was. I like to ask people why they think God selected Mary to incarnate Himself into the earth. You have to remember that many people think they are following the Way just because they heard about the Messiah. They don’t really they have to make a choice each day to follow Jesus. Being a believer is a lifestyle. Of course, I know Mary was just a woman of faith, but I am just connecting to some similar areas of thought. Working on finding common ground so that I can tell them the truth about Jesus and The Way. Paul did a similar thing in Acts. Acts 17:22 says, | |
| 22 | Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; NKJV He was complimenting the Greek people for seeking out God, even though the surroundings were filled with all their little ‘gods’ in the form of statues, temples, and other buildings. He found their statue to ‘The Unknown God’ and sought common ground in seeing that. If you go in to a conversation with an open heart and willing to listen, people will listen to you. Listening doesn’t mean you agree. At the same time, you don’t have to refute every wrong thing they say when you are listening. Focus on the most important truth. By starting your conversation on common ground, you can take it to the higher ground which is the truth that Jesus is the only way to God. The truth that without the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah, we would all be lost. If they do know Jesus, then you can pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as you start with the common ground and help them to get to God’s higher level, that higher ground. Remember God Jesus made Himself at our level so that He could make us right. We don’t deserve it, but He came to serve us. If He served others, we certainly can do the same as well. As you serve others, watch people come to Jesus. It is the greatest miracle you can ever see to me, seeing someone repent and turning to Jesus. Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you today so that you can win someone to Christ this month, this week, or better yet, this day. Today’s Reading- |

Praying For Believers
Col 1:3-4 | |
| 3 | We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; NKJV “I was just thinking about you” was the thought I had as I saw the person I prayed for in our Power Hour prayer meeting that Saturday show up on that Sunday. I didn’t say anything but I chuckled to myself as I saw that young woman I hadn’t seen in God’s House for months show up at the worship service that Sunday. Have you thought about it? Who are we supposed to be praying for first, believers or unbelievers? I didn’t think there was too much of a difference before I read Colossians 1:3. However, as I read and meditated on (thought deeply about) that verse, I have to say my opinion as has changed. We should be praying for believers first and foremost. Why? I will tell you in a moment. Here in Col we see that when someone heard about the faith and the love of a believer that started them praying for that believer always. That’s right, always. When you think of a person that was at your church, someone who was at a Bible study or small group that you attended in the past, or someone you might at an outreach, pray for them. Pray strong prayers of encouragement and that they would be lifted up. Pray for their health. Pray that their businesses will prosper. Pray for wisdom so that they will make good decisions. Pray that they would be so blessed through their tithes and offerings that thousands will come to the knowledge of the grace of God through the returns on their giving. There are many things you can pray. In 1 Corinthians 1:4-8 you can keep these things in mind, |
| 4 | I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. NKJV If after prayer, you still have them on your heart (which is your soul- mind, will, emotions), you’re still thinking about them, then contact them. Tell them that you prayed for them and are thinking about them. As believers this is powerful. When someone comes to mind, I have been making an effort to pray out loud for them, no matter what I am doing. It has been amazing to see things happen. You’ll be amazed to see people phone you out of the blue. Others come to you and ask for forgiveness for some offense you didn’t even think about. It is amazing how when you pray things happen. When you pray for believers they begin to walk in the truth more and more. 3 John 3 says, |
| 3 | For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. NKJV So why do we need to pray for believers above all else? If believers are spiritually and physically well, they will be bring unbelievers in the Kingdom. It’s that simple. Someone come to mind? Pray for them now. If you don’t know what to pray, pray for them in tongues and let the Spirit do the rest. Today’s Reading- |

Being In The Family
Deuteronomy 33:9 | |
| 9 | Who says of his father and mother, 'I have not seen them'; Nor did he acknowledge his brothers, Or know his own children; For they have observed Your word And kept Your covenant. NKJV When you say “the family” to an American, you conjure up images of these gang-related Italian -American families that make a living lying, cheating, stealing, and killing. The family has this image of the mafia. Obviously, they are doing evil and are not a part of The Way of Jesus or God’s Kingdom. Regardless, they are very exclusive as you are either you are a part of ‘the family’, or you are not. There is nothing in between. It is really the same way for followers of Jesus. You are either a follower, or you are not. There is nothing in between. The Messiah’s family is open to all but you are either in or you are not. King Jesus’ earthly birthmother Mary and his half brothers came to one of His meetings expecting Him to drop the hundreds maybe thousands of people who where gathered around Him to hear His teaching in Matthew 12. His response in verse 50 made it very clear who were a part of His family. He replied, |
| 50 | For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matt 12:50 KJV I love that in the King James version of the Bible. Who is in God’s family? Whosoever does the will of the Father God. Whosoever is an old way of saying whomever. Anyone who does God’s will can be a part of the family. That’s right! You don’t have to be Italian, or any other nationality for that matter. Hallelujah! But what is the will of God? People ask, “What is God’s will for me?” “How do I know God’s will in my life?” or even, “What is God’s will?” God’s will is God’s Word. If you know the Bible, you are going to know God’s Word for you! Our text in Deuteronomy 33:9 highlights that. Saying God’s family, His children are those who “have observed Your word, And kept Your covenant”. God’s word is God’s will. God’s will is His covenant with you and me. That is why we are supposed to pray the Word of God. If you pray God’s Words over yourself, they will not return empty to you. God’s words are living and powerful. Saying and praying them over yourself, your family, your circumstances. Another day when Jesus was preaching, a woman stood and said, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that nursed you”. What did the Messiah say? |
Luke 11:28 | |
| But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" NKJV I love it, because I’ve been all over the US, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Canada and wherever I go I have seen members of the family. We are baptized in the Spirit and we are flowing in His ways with the brightness of the Light in our eyes. Our nationality is God’s Kingdom not any nation of the earth. It’s all about hearing and doing. There is no such thing as passive followers of Jesus. True Christians have action to their faith because they are hearing the Word, and they are putting it into practice daily. Are you a part of the family? All you have to do is hear and act on what you’ve heard. Live like that every day, and you are in the family of Jesus. Today’s Reading- | |

The Holy Spirit & Unpardonable Sin
Matt 12:32 | |
| 32 | Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. NKJV Recently a UK-based ‘scientist’ co-authored another book on the universe. His specialty is physics but apparently has done some very interesting studies on the universe and in particular black holes. Black holes are theorized to be collapsed stars that once they fizzle out, they apparently tend to pull in all the objects around them including light itself. There is no black hole anywhere near earth, so no one has been to a black hole. Therefore their science is based on observation and connects heavily to the ‘Theory of Relativity” as it is called. The scientists have an explanation for how the universe was created. Their problem is if they are biased against God, they cannot explain the action, the move, the spark that ignited this creation of the universe. Other scientists have described the spark that created the universe as “The Big Bang”. Remember, good and bad, or even good and evil, are not labels you can put on groups of people. There are good, and there are bad scientists. In the recent book, this famous physicist concluded that God could definitely not be involved in the creation of the universe. When the article hit the news, many humanists applauded as they wanted to have a reason for sinning, but many others rose up and started criticizing the guy. Although my first response was to want to defend God, I decided I would pray for the guy that morning. I did a bit of quick research on the guy and found that when he was at university, he contracted a de-genitive disease. The disease attacked his body and he became a quadriplegic, meaning losing all control of his four (quadra) limbs, legs and arms. He was apparently very smart but has to move around in a wheelchair as he cannot move. Although his book tries to deny the existence of God, when I started praying for him the Holy Spirit started to show me what was going on with him. That’s right! God revealed to me, a believer 9,585 kilometers away from London, what was going on in the life of a this guy. This man was denying God because he thought in his heart, “If there is a God, then I wouldn’t be in this body all shriveled up unable to move on my own”. The followers of Jesus know this was foolishness, but that didn’t stop me from praying for Holy Spirit baptized believers to meet him wherever he goes. It is interesting how you can try to deny Jesus, but God is not offended and neither should you be. So what does Matthew mean when it says, “but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him”? Many pastors have had people come to them saying, “Pastor, I’ve committed the unpardonable sin!” Well, this unpardonable sin, or speaking against the Holy Spirit is ‘rejecting the drawing of that person by the Holy Spirit’ is what I learned in my Bible schooling. The Holy Spirit is here on the earth drawing us to become right with God, repent and turn to Jesus from our wrong ways. The Holy Spirit is drawing us to The Way of Jesus. But let’s look at this further. The Dake Study Bible says, “It is any insulting remark or curse, even attributing to [the enemy] the works of the Holy Spirit. It is unforgivable if it is done maliciously and knowingly…” That is exactly what the religious people were trying to do in Matthew 12:24 saying the works of God were the works of the enemy. It puts things right in context. That was a deception and they knew it. They had rejected Jesus and the works of the Holy Spirit. People better be careful. Especially those who talk maliciously against the moves of the Holy Spirit. That is unforgiveable. I experienced the Brownsville Revival in Florida. The Holy Spirit changed me there. Yet people were criticizing it saying it was an act of the devil. God forgive them. They will be judged. It was powerful move of the Holy Spirit! If people are being healed of diseases, gang members are being set free, witches are being freed from demonic control, homosexuals going straight and throwing off their sin, and countless other godly miracles, something spiritual is happening. Most importantly if people are coming to Jesus, you won’t hear me criticize because it is of God. When nearly 200,000 people repent and turn to King Jesus at one church, the Holy Spirit is there. I refuse to say anything negative about that group and neither should you because you are not talking about them, you are talking against the Holy Spirit. You should do the same. Decide you are going to declare the works of God in your life. You are going to talk about how God took you from a family with nothing to a prosperous life. You are going to proclaim His goodness in keeping sickness and disease away from you, even when others were falling around you. You are going to shout His praises because He took you from an employee to an employer! You are going to sing of His mercies because He forgave you even through you didn’t deserve it. He is SO good to us! Praise Him today! Today’s Reading- |
