The Power Marriage

1 Cor 7:5 | |
| 5 | Do not refuse and deprive and defraud each other [of your due marital rights], except perhaps by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves unhindered to prayer. But afterwards resume marital relations, lest Satan tempt you [to sin] through your lack of restraint of sexual desire. AMP We cannot count how many times we have seen dysfunctional marriages in our ministry. It is likely the tip of the iceberg if you could see every marriage in the world as It is possible for any of us to have a marriage on the rocks. In life, just like science, we see that most things go from ‘order’ to ‘disorder’. Marriages usually start good but can fall apart if you don’t make an effort to keep a fire in your marriage. We have met spouses whose last time they had sexual relations was when they conceived their teenage children. That is wrong and not God’s design. It is also tragic as physical relations is a beautiful part of every marriage. Marriage is not only a spiritual union but it is a physical union. When you are married, you are never to withhold yourself sexually from your husband or wife. You should be so passionate about them. You should be chasing them around the house! At the same time, if you want to be chased, you need to keep yourself attractive for your spouse. Why would the wife want to kiss a husband who doesn’t regularly floss and clean his teeth or has bad breath? Morever, how can a guy be excited about a wife that doesn’t take regular showers or arrange her hair and appearance every morning? Relationships are a two way street and both people need to do their part to keep the marriage fresh and impress their spouse. When you read 1 Cor 7:5 in the Amplified Translation, it is clear that when you are marrying you are submitting yourself to one another. Although the husband is the spiritual head of the home, the wife needs to do her part in contributing to that marriage. To have the best marriage possible, the husband and wife need make an effort to be ‘in love’ with each other. Just as you decided by faith you are saved, by faith you are healed (no matter how you feel), and by faith you are prospering, you have to decide by faith you love your spouse (no matter how you feel). Faith is not feeling, it is expectation. Smith Wigglesworth said, “I’m not moved by how I feel, I am moved by what I believe”. That is expectation, that is faith. One young man we met married a woman who had been physically abused by her step-father when she was a child. The young man met this young woman at church and they decided to marry. He did not know about the history when they married as the wife was a bright bubbly and happy person when they got married and for many years into the marriage. However, about 15 years into the marriage the wife snapped. She went into a horrible depression and started to started to get easily sickened because of the bad memories of the evil that had been done to her as a little girl. She couldn’t eat right, sleep well, or even work around the house. She went through incredible emotional ups and downs. At that point, many men might of abandoned that wife, but not this husband. He was faithful in praying for her, getting her to counseling, cooking for the children when the wife was just immobile on the couch, and consistent loving her. It looked like all was lost and this woman was going to be forever bound up in her past, but God is greater if we call on Him. Even though the husband probably didn’t feel like loving her, by faith he did. He took care of her and stood beside her as she pledged at the altar at their marriage. That is faith as he was expecting her to get well even as they dealt with those demonic powers who wanted to destroy his wife and family. That couple got through that hardship, banished that depressive demon, and came out victorious. Last time I saw them they were crazy about each other talking about how sexy their spouse was in public it was embarrassing to the rest of us. Don’t give up on your marriage. Don’t lose the physical and spiritual connection that you should have with your spouse. If you have a solid relationship with Yahweh, then your relationship with your spouse has legs to stand on and not only will you have passion for the things of God, you will have passion for each other. Your kids will appreciate that too! Where two are gather, God promised to be in our midst. That is the power of marriage and a godly family. Today’s Reading- |

Dealing With Disaster
Romans 8:19-22 | |
| 19 | For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. NKJV Eastern Japan had just taken the worst earthquake in known history crippling Tokyo. Huge tsunamis followed the shaking in the Pacific ocean coming in and wiping whole towns off the face of the map. There were 1,600 people confirmed dead initially and the number was rising. When someone mentioned praying for the situation, one westerner responded saying, “God killed 1,600 people.” Utter nonsense from someone who doesn’t know God or is likely prejudiced against God. Why do we have tornadoes, tsunamis, cyclones, earthquakes, or even mudslides? If you listen to some people, you would think it was the judgment of God. It is strange that these same people don’t credit God for the good weather, prosperity, bumper crops, or anything else on the good side, they just focus on the bad and credit Him for those things. Where is the logic in that? When God created the earth, He made it perfect. When we sinned, we fouled it up. The earth became corrupt. Romans 8:19-22 makes it very clear. If you read down to verses 26 through 28 you’ll see that is why we need to be praying. If we are praying we can know that everything is going to work for the God. If we are not praying, nothing is going to happen. We are the movers and the shakers of God’s power in the Kingdom. God does not cause disaster. Let me say that again, “God does not cause disaster”. If a man built a house, and then later destroyed his creation a year later, we would think the guy were crazy. It is the same with God, why would He create you just to kill you? God is not crazy or mentally deranged. God is beautiful, perfect, and completely and thoroughly right. There is not a single spec of darkness with Him. Jesus made it very clear in John 10:10 that He came to give you a full and abundant life. So why do we have disasters? Well the answer is simple. The laws of nature are now at work. Thunder and lightning occurs when weather brings warm weather and cold weather together. Tsunamis happen due to underwater earthquakes. Earthquakes are caused by the shifting in the earth’s crust. We are living in an environment that runs according to the laws of nature. Remember King Jesus in the boat? The wind was roaring, the waves were flowing into the boat. Did He say, “I guess it is God’s will for this storm to come”? No, He told the wind to be still and the waves to stop. That is exactly how we are supposed to deal with potential disasters. We’re to speak in faith. Don’t accept incoming disasters! Speak to the storm, speak to the natural disaster, and watch it stop at the powerful name of Jesus. That is what He did and He told us we can do the same. If it already happened, then it is time to show the love of God to the hurt and suffering. Show them that it is time to know God, because no matter what their situation, if they know Jesus they are going to a better place. When that earthquake shook the building my wife was in, it shook for 10 minutes. She didn’t say, “I am going to die”, she started to pray in the Spirit, using the gift of tongues she received when she got the baptism of the Holy Spirit. From Weak To Strong- Unbelievable Confidence
Hebrews 10:19-23 | |
| 19 | Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. NKJV No matter what happens in life, the idea of ‘meek is weak’ is completely wrong. A believer is supposed to be strong. We’re supposed to be bold. You’ve got to be led by the Spirit so that you can make decisions based on godly wisdom and direction. If you are led by feelings you are going to be in trouble. According to Hebrews 10, part of being able to make good decisions is being in God’s presence. Faith is not standing there and getting beat up. Faith is knowing where to put your resources. Jesus took the beating, the pain, the sickness so that we wouldn’t have to. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have a chance for pain, sickness, or getting beat up. A US marine when talking of the various debates and fights that happen in a corporation offered this advice, “You’ve got to know which battles to fight, and which to leave”. Spiritually, we don’t have to put up with anything. But when dealing with others, sometimes you just have to let things go and focus on the big issues. The Word talks about living in the flesh versus living according to the Spirit. We saw Joseph, Daniel, and others who were spiritually sensitive in the Old Testament, but it was not until the New Testament that we see people really can connect to God. We can be Spirit-led. How are you led by the Spirit? It is by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Every believer needs to be baptized by the laying on of hands in their church of Spirit-filled believers. When you don’t know what to do, God will give you wisdom. How can He? It is because Jesus came in the flesh just like us to be born into a body... just like us. Just going to church is not going to make you holy before God. Just being traditional and following some rules or law is not going to make you right or perfect before God. Hebrews 7:19 says, |
| 19 | for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. NKJV The law made nothing perfect means that nothing was made right by just following rules and being a good person. People weren’t freed to going directly into heaven when they died until after Jesus. Every person that died after Jesus resurrected, that believed on Him, is in heaven now. Those who did not believe are eternally separated now and forever. It is time for you to begin to be confident in your relationship with God. Make sure that you have been baptized in the Spirit, are led by the Spirit, and are confidently entering His presence. This is what will make you perfect, your faith strong, and a confidence that is so perfect that it is unbelievable. Today’s Reading- |

The Good Ground Guy
Matt 13:21 | |
| 21 | yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. NKJV What are you made of? That is the question we all find out when you go through some type of challenging situation. In Matthew 13, King Jesus tells an amazing parable. Parables were stories of unnamed people to illustrate a point. (We learned that if Jesus named the person, then it wasn’t a parable). If you want to teach a point, you’ll find that stories are the best way to do it as people can better relate the truth to their lives. In Matthew 13, where the King relates the story of the sower, we find that the Word of God is received by different people in different ways. It relates the condition of their heart to a type ground that the seed of the gospel falls on. We hear about the seed that fell -beside the road -on rocky places -among the thorns -on good ground From verse 18 he explains the parable of the sower to us. In verse 21 He says the guy who is like the rocky places is the one who hears the Word and is free but immediately trouble comes and he (or she) falls away. You see, tribulation and persecution comes to everyone, but some people have themselves in situations or a condition where it hits them harder. If you are a recovering alcoholic, then the last thing you want to do is go to a bar to ‘witness’ to people. If you are freed from the life of sodomy, then you need to build yourself up in the most holy faith for a good amount of time before you go into some homosexual event to tell people about Jesus. Matthew 13:21 talks about people who are like this rocky ground and describes them as immediately stumbling. If you don’t want to immediately stumble and fall spiritually, you have got to change yourself to the good ground Matthew 13:8 talks about. The interesting thing is that the seed of the Word was heard by both the person on the rocky ground as well as the person with the good ground. They both heard the same message but what was the difference? The condition of their heart was different. What is the heart? We know that humans are three-part beings; spirit, soul (mind, will, emotions), and body. Heart is the combination of the spirit and soul. That is you. If you are open in your spirit and your soul, you can go further and longer than someone with a closed heart or even partially open. If you think about it in terms of vehicles, it is pretty easy to see. If there is a major earthquake and the supply of gasoline fuel is cut with the same amount of gasoline in everyone’s tank, the people that can drive farther are the one’s with less weight in the car, newer engines, and people who drive consistently (not people who drive like race car driver). They are going to be able to make that tankful last the maximum as they can drive longer and farther. What is the condition of your heart (spirit and soul)? Are you hungry for the things of God or more distracted by the things of this world? Don’t be distracted. Focus on Him and He’ll give you the peace that passes all understanding. That peace will not only take you through any difficulty, you are going to come out blessed. The people whose hearts are the good ground, their giving and the fruit of what they do comes back to them 30, 60, and 100 times of what they put in. It is not just financial, but if you talk about it in money terms it is pretty obvious. A person who gives $1 has $100 come back to them. Wow! Why not be good ground and believe God for a one-hundred fold return in all that you do? You an be the good ground guy (male or female)! Today’s Reading- |

More Than A Ticket
Hebrews 13:1-2 | |
| 1 | Let brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. NKJV What you do it will come back to you. We will all be judged for how we treat others. That is not to say that your good or bad works will get you to heaven or condemn you to eternal separation from God. If you don’t repent and turn to Jesus, you won’t be with Him in heaven. That decision is final once you depart your earthsuit (your body). Many of us believers seem to think that we will only be judged by whether or not we repent and turn to Jesus. We must remember that we will be judged on what we have done on the earth. |
2 Cor 5:10-11 | |
| For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. NKJV See it is more than just getting a heavenly ticket. It is about repenting and turning to Jesus every day of your life, and showing His love to others. You can say you’re a believer until you’re blue in the face but if you are not loving your neighbor then what does that prove? You ask “How do I love my neighbor”? Learn to treat them and care for them as if they were a believer. When your next door neighbor has a spouse in the hospital, take them over a meal. When there is a tragedy in a family pray with them for the victory and encouragement. I remember going through a tough time and having someone grab my hand and praying with me. It was so uplifting. Then there were other times when I have stopped people from praying because their prayer was filled with IIBYW (if it be your will). They prayed, “God if it be your will... heal, bless...” If you want to pray a solid prayer for people then pray the Word of God for people. An IIBYW prayer is not only bad, it can be a curse. Pray the Word and you will have prayer. If you don’t know what to pray for a situation, ask for wisdom and the Holy Spirit will give it to you (James 1:5). There are many ways that you can be a blessing to people. Hebrews 13:1,2 talks about many opportunities for us to show the love of God to people and how sometimes those people are actually angels from heaven. Wow! We are going to be judged in two ways. Firstly, whether or not we turned to Jesus. And secondly, for what we have done. Rev 22:12 says, | |
| 12 | "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. NKJV Somewhere I picked up the saying, “What comes around goes around”. We know what you sow is what you reap. You steal from people, and things are going to be stolen from you. You destroy things, and your things will be destroyed. But if you spread out the good, then guess what? Back comes the good! Give and it shall be given to you. That is the law of reciprocity. Let’s spread the love, the power, the joy, the healing, the prosperity, and the fullness of Jesus to the world for as long as we’re on this earth. Today’s Reading- |

Wisdom & Revelation Above You
Eph 1:17 | |
| 17 | that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, NKJV Some have been to great universities graduating with bachelor and advanced degrees such as masters and even doctorates. One African friend who stayed with my family in Oregon studied 8 years in America to become a medical doctor. It took a lot of work, but he did it and now he is a practicing doctor. To be able to do anything in this world, you should strive to get as much education as you can. Get to school from primary school and work to get through Middle, High School, and university degrees. Even with all that education, our God is greater than all the most educated people put together. He wants you to have access to what He has. That is the reason why we need to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians describes the Holy Spirit as the spirit of wisdom, revelation, and the knowledge of Him. You want wisdom, revelation, and the knowledge to know Him better? Then you need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. When you interact with God on this earth, you are interacting with the Holy Spirit. You have to be led by the Spirit, directed by the Spirit, and communicating with the Holy Spirit of Yahweh. How do you get it? Everything comes down to Jesus. Everything. If you have Jesus, you have been made righteous before God and can receive that baptism. Normally, you have to know Him first but I have learned to never put God in a box. That’s to say, I have never imagined that we can really fully understand the vastness of God. There’s nothing to stop you from repenting and being baptized at the same minute. He is awesome pure love in perfect form. Hallelujah! When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you can do more than any normal person can do. We are to be like Jesus and He said we can do greater things then Him. Isaiah 11:2 says, |
| 2 | The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. NKJV The baptism of the Spirit is something like no other. Let the power of the Holy Spirit rest on you. Even before we were redeemed before God by Jesus, there were people operating in that power. Daniel 5:11 says, |
| 11 | There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God... NKJV was what was said of Daniel by the government officials of his day. God wants you to have that same wisdom, understanding, and knowledge that Daniel had every day for your life. It is there for the taking, if you are willing to receive. You’ve got to be reading His Word and spending time in His presence just as Daniel, but don’t forget the most important part. Ask! |

The Knowledge Prosperity Connection
Hosea 4:6 | |
| 6 | My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. NKJV This is a powerful statement from Yahweh. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...” My parents repented and turned to Jesus after they got married. I had the opportunity to grow up around various churches filled with both the Cultural Christians as well the Committed Christians that you and I aspire to be. Some people have this idea that when you turn to Jesus everything just turns out alright. This must be a common desire among unbelievers because secular songs often include riffs proclaiming “Everything gonna be alright”. That makes you wonder then why do we have to go through so much pain in life if “everything gonna be alright”. If you don’t know Jesus, everything is NOT going to be alright. No matter how many people sing it. When you know Jesus, then you are heading in the right direction but if you are not praying, then you are completely open to whatever disaster comes your way because you will not know how to deal with it. Hosea prophesied a word from Yahweh that people are destroyed because they don’t know. What people or who are these people? He says, “My people”. God’s people? Yes! God’s people can go through the same trouble that any cultural Christian or unbeliever can go through. That’s horrible news, but at the same time, that should be a motivator for the committed Holy Spirit filled Committed Christians. We should be motivated to get smart about the things of God first, as well as the ways the world works. What did Jesus say about knowing? He said in John 8:32, |
| 32 | And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. NKJV Frankly put, if you don’t know, you may not be free. Imagine a prisoner behind bars in a cell with rows of cells lined along a corridor in a prison. Maybe one day the guard locked up all the cells except his. Maybe the door’s lock jammed and is not bolted shut. If he would just push on that door he could be free but because he doesn’t ‘know’ or have that ‘knowledge’, he is just sitting in that cell wasting away. If you are praying about whether to buy a property and you are a spirit-filled believer, you are going to be led by the Holy Spirit to buy a property and make money on that property. You will not only have the direction of the Holy Spirit, you will know that people struggle, suffer, and die because they have no knowledge. That is not God’s plan or His way. He wants you to make wise decisions that benefit you, your family, and your church ministry in your area. After all what does 3 John say? |
