Complete Victory
1 John 5:4-5 | |
| 4 | For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world … our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? NKJV As a believer, what is the most important thing you can do? Give time and effort to helping the poor? How about, working in a soup kitchen, laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover, believing God for a financial break through and then getting it or even inviting someone to church? Or course, all of these things are good, but to me the most important thing you can do is share your faith with others. Faith in God is not just faithfully tithing to your church, attending your church every week, fellowshipping with other believers, and talking to God. Faith in God is also sharing His goodness with others in everyday life because you know Him. God wants you blessed so that you can be a blessing to others. He wants you to share His love with others and tell them that He loves them and that He has an awesome plan for them. The most important thing we can do as believers is to tell others about Jesus. Once you start telling your friends and the people you meet about what Jesus is doing in your life. I remember a Brazilian Japanese guy coming into my company one day. He came in to see if he could get some business as he was just starting his company and trying to sell his services. As we sat there in the meeting room, I remember hearing his sales pitch. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and revealed to me regarding some challenges He was going through in His life. After he went on for a while I stopped him and said, “I am sorry to stop you, but I really sense God really wanting to say something here. You can try to run your business without God and hope for the best. However, I have worked without God and I have worked with God. Working with God is so much better. Let’s pray to accept Jesus as your Saviour today”. The Holy Spirit used my words and the guy was amazed. He began to share how he had to have cancer surgery on his head and showed me an open wound covered by a bandage of where some cancer had been removed near his ear. He opened up and sharing his fears about a recurrence and the high possibility he had of dying of cancer. I shared with him, that maybe the doctor says that, but with God, all things are possible. God is our victory through our faith in Him and our action according to that faith. We prayed for his healing. He also prayed to repent and accept the work that Jesus did to make him right with God. That day a salesman made it into the kingdom. Hallelujah! If you want to see God working in your life, your family, your business, then pray for boldness, and start sharing Him wherever you can. Of course, we can’t normally share Jesus when the company is paying us to work, but share Him on your time, at lunch or other breaks, and watch things happen. Your church will grow, your business will grow with opportunities coming from all directions, but most importantly you will grow. Share your victory today! |

Signs, Believing, & Purity
John 6:28-29 | |
| 28 | Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" |
| 29 | Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." NKJV As a believer, our role model is Jesus the Messiah. Of course, we can admire pastors, teachers, evangelists, song writers and such but we have to realize that these folks are just human like we are. Of course, Jesus became human as well. He has experienced every feeling, every temptation, every challenge that we have. Our God knows us and loves us so well. There is one guy that I really respect. Of all the men and women of God, from my studies, he is the man who walked closest with God in modern times. His name was Smith Wigglesworth. Smith was a man that when he would start praying in a room with others, the presence of God would come down and many would have to leave the room due to the power of God’s glory. He was a man who raised 5 people (that we know of) from the dead, prayed the prayer of faith over many and helped them get healing from cancer, growths, paralysis, nothing was too difficult. The secret of Smith Wigglesworth’s power was his faith. What is faith? Faith is believing that what you expect is going to come to pass. It is not just positive confession or some humanistic thing, it is perfectly defined by the Messiah in John 6:29, it is all about Jesus and believing and relying on Him in your life. Yesterday, I enjoyed some time with the Lord. I listened to some anointed messages and read. I read some quotes of Smith Wigglesworth. He said, “Before a man can bind the enemy, he must know there is nothing binding him.” He also said, “Purity is vital to faith.” The second statement hit me like huge wave. Why? Well, it seems that in our generation, we are so busy talking about God’s blessings that we sometimes forget to talk about God. Yes, it was good (and still is) to get free from that ‘Suffering Servant’ mentality that religious folk and cultural Christians try to get you to swallow. Telling you that God wants to keep you poor and sick is a lie that the enemy just loves to blind a new believer into believing. I want to vomit when I hear someone preaching that lie. They preach poverty and that is exactly what they have. However, being a believer is more than just being blessed. It is about demonstrating God’s power in your life. I love to hear messages on giving because I know giving is what got me where I am now. However, I don’t want to hear giving messages every Sunday. It makes church seem cheap. I remember visiting a church in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2003 and wondering, do these guys ever talk about anything other than giving? I asked the Lord, “What should they be talking about?” His response was holiness and purity because He is holy, and pure. Smith Wigglesworth’s quote that I read yesterday reminded me of that, “Purity is vital to faith.” God wants to move through you and I. He wants to take us to the next level. If we want to go, we need to be praying that we be pure and holy before Him. Have you got a bad habit that you know you need to break? When you get upset do you say things that you later regret? Do you look at people and think things that you know you should not be thinking? We all have, but it is time to change. If you want to walk in God’s ways and His power, you have to be holy before Him. Jesus said if we believe in Him, we’ll do greater miracles than He did (John 14:12) |
| 12 | "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. ESV If you are having trouble changing your neighbourhood for God, then you probably need to change yourself first. God wants to do so much more though you and I. Don’t be happy with just the blessing, let’s seek to better know the Blesser and His ways. |

Bringing Out the Super Hero
1 Peter 2:9-10 | |
| 9 | But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. NKJV As a human being, you are God’s creation. He loves you and created you for a purpose. When you repent and follow Jesus, that is when God can start to use all that potential that you have in you. You see, many people love super-heroes. Why is that? People want to feel special. They want to feel different than anyone else. The real super-heroes are not people with large muscles or some supernatural trait. A real super hero is a believer. Someone who has turned from the dark ways of the world and decided to follow the most amazing man that ever lived… Jesus! Why is He amazing? He is amazing because He is not just some human that lived on the earth. He was born, raised, and killed for what he said was our behalf (John 3:16). But what makes Him a superhero? Jesus is the true superhero because He died but came back to life on the third day. In other words, He never died! Do you know anyone who never died? Now that is super-natural! It does not end there. God has called us to be super as well. I have been around people calling themselves Christians that I was embarrassed to associate with. I have seen various people who have dressed like poverty, had no concern for personal hygiene (ex. bad breath and body odors), treated unbelievers harshly, taken things they did not pay for, and come into the church and tell everyone what they should do but not bother to deal with their own faults… This is not the example the Messiah gave us. In fact, the Word says we are a chosen generation, so let’s act chosen and treat unbelievers better than we treat ourselves. We are a royal priesthood, so let’s make that extra effort to fellowship with the heavenly Father each day. We are a holy nation so we need to watch videos, music and do things that build up our spirits, not things that pull us into temptation and sin. If we want to see the power of God working in our lives we need to be pure and holy before Him. Let’s face it, if you have repented and are following Jesus you are no longer a Brazilian, British, Chinese, Japanese, African, American, or any of the other hundreds of nationalities on the earth. You are a part of the Holy Nation, what Jesus called The Kingdom. Any earthly nationality is irrelevant. Let’s focus on operating according to Kingdom terms. If you don’t know Jesus, repent from your ways and accept Him now. It is the most important decision of your life. If you have already believed but have been living according to the world’s ways, then it time to turn and follow Jesus with all of your being. Don’t be stuck living in the ways of the world. Bring out the superhero in yourself and put your faith to action. What out because when you believe, signs and wonders will follow in your life! |

From Paupers To Priests
1 Peter 2:9-10 | |
| 9 | But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. NKJV First Peter 2:9,10 is so rich that you can spend hours meditating on it. What? Meditating? Yes, that is right. If you want to be strong spiritually and walk in the power of God you will find that meditating on God’s Word is the foundation of your success. Joshua was told (Josh 1:8), |
| 8 | This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. NKJV The Book of the Law is God’s Word. We are to think about over and over (meditate on) on God’s Word. God gave a man named Joshua a mission. He was to go take over a land filled with people who had completely rejected God. We have to realize, God is gracious but if we reject Him it is our choice. If we desire to know Him, He will call someone to us to tell us about Jesus. It is amazing! Once you start looking for God, He will respond. God almost always works through you and I, that is why we are supposed to preach the Kingdom to every creature. However, He is loving and even if there is no one nearby, God is not limited to the circumstances, He will move in miraculous ways. A few years ago, there was a group of religious folk traveling from Malaysia to Mecca for what their religion is called a Hajj. We know that Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), but clearly God saw their hearts. As they spent the night in a city waiting for the plane departure the next morning, somebody had a dream. They saw Jesus come to them and say that He loved them. The interesting thing is that it wasn’t just one person that had the dream it was several of them. The next morning they discussed it and discovered they all had the same dream! They decided it was clear that God was speaking to them. They abandoned their trip to Mecca and decided to follow Jesus. Awesome! God always gives people a chance. This is grace. None of us deserves to be with God. None of us deserves to be forgiven of all of our imperfections, weakness, and in many cases down right filthiness. We were nothing until God spoke to us and we repented and followed Jesus. That is why the scripture says, who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. We were nothing, spiritual paupers, beggars, no matter what we did we could not work our way into right-standing with God. However, when you grab a hold of what Jesus did for you, you become a new person. You come clean before God. But not only that, you can begin to become a spiritual giant as you renew your mind to the Word of God and find out who you are in the Messiah. Say it out loud. Confession- I am a royal priesthood. I am a part of God’s Holy Nation. I am special to Him. Father, today as I go about my day, I pray you help me to see who I am through what Jesus did for me. I pray that you help me to proclaim your goodness to the people around me with boldness. Lead me by your Holy Spirit so people will see your light in me and desire to know you through my daily life testimony. I thank you for your power, and I thank you for leading me by your Holy Spirit, in the mighty Name of Jesus! Amen. |

Equipped & Ready To Roll
2 Tim 3:16-17 | |
| 16 | All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. NKJV If you want to find a cult, just look for a religious group who has tried to change or discount the Word of God. If you want to find a weak believer, just look for one who doubts the Word of God. We need to understand that the Word of God (the Bible), that we have today is the same Word of God that are spiritual ancestors had. Many people have tried to change it or destroy it, but the Word has bridged the generations. A great man of God, Isaiah said, |
| 8 | The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever. Isa 40:8 NKJV When God’s people start to become weak by accepting whatever the world has to say that is contrary to the Word of God, be assured trouble is on its way. In Nazi Germany, that is exactly what happened. The churches lost their salt because they let the government tell them what to believe. America was founded on the principle of keeping the state out of the church (not keeping the believers out of government as some anti-christs would have you believe). Governments cannot run the church of God. In Germany, the church accepted the killing of old or sick people (euthanasia), and that acceptance led to abortion of children, eventually the society was accepting the extermination of a whole people group. Interestingly enough, that is when the Nazi’s began trying to burn up every Bible they could find. They literally had bonfires and forced people to burn up their Bibles. The enemy uses people to stamp out anything to do with God and His people. The enemy will never succeed. I wish I could go into how God protected His Word throughout the generations, how it came together, and how it has been proven historically time and time again. However, what we as believers need to realize is that God’s Word is powerful. It was not written by some angel, nor did it fall from heaven. God’s Word came together through believers who were filled with the Holy Spirit. They were inspired and wrote as the Holy Spirit directed them. The New Living Translation is great as it puts things in very plain English. |
| 16 | All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. NLT 2 Tim 3:16-17 Why has God protected His Word? Why is it that copies of the Word discovered recently that were buried for hundreds of years match exactly the Word we have in our hands today? Why is it that no man or woman can destroy the Word? It is because God protects His Word. When believers read the Word of God, God’s Spirit gives us direction for our lives. He speaks to us. He shows us things that unbelievers cannot see, because Yahweh sees all, and Yahweh knows all. Keep a Bible with you at all times and read it whenever you can. Watch God change you and enlighten you. He will show you things about Him and His Kingdom that you never knew. |

You’re Out Of Your Mind!
Acts 12:11 | |
| 11 | When Peter came to himself, he said, "Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting."ESV Faith without works is dead. Justly so, works without faith is dead. You can moan when you pray, you can shout at the top of your lungs, you can get up every morning to pray at the mountain, you can stay up all night in prayer, but if you have not got faith behind your prayers, then you cannot expect much to happen. Prayer is spending time with Yahweh. When Peter was in prison for preaching the Gospel, many of his friends gathered at a friend’s house to pray all night. But what were they praying? Apparently, the only faith in the house was not from that prayer meeting. But one girl apparently was believing in faith for Peter’s release. Her name was Rhoda. An angel of Yahweh came and broke Peter out of prison. (Just what someone had been praying for). However, when he arrived at the door of the house, the servant girl answered. In Acts 12:14 it says, |
| 14 | Recognizing Peter's voice, in her joy she did not open the gate but ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate. ESV Rhoda had evidently been believing in faith during this ‘prayer’ meeting. But clearly the others did not believe her. As a matter of fact they told her, "You are out of your mind." They were praying for Peter’s release, but wouldn’t believe it when it happened. What does that mean? They weren’t really believing what they were praying because they didn’t EXPECT it. Faith is expecting. When you believe in faith, many times people will tell you, "You are out of your mind." You have got to learn to ignore people who don’t operate in faith. In this case, these guys had been praying all night, but they had no faith. Don’t be confused or in some cases, even deceived by people saying they’re Christians but filled with unbelief. Faith without action is useless, more so action without faith is just religion. There is sometimes more unbelief in churches than in the world. If your church is filled with unbelief, then you need to change churches. Rhoda wasn’t hampered. Eventually, the people figured that that prayer was answered. Their prayer was unfruitful. What is praying? Praying is making time to talk to God. It is not just reciting some verse. It is communicating with the Maker. We may never know who prayed the prayer of faith that brought Peter out of jail, but we will know one girl that believed. Are you believing God today for His best for you? Ignite the fuse to a powerful prayer time. Pray in faith, believe in faith, and live every day by faith. |

As He Is
1 John 4:17 | |
| 17 | Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. NKJV The cool thing about God is that He doesn’t expect us to do things that we are not equipped to do. He does not send His people out into to desert without water, a weapon, a camel, or a map. He does send you into the world without the tools to overcome. He always provides a way. Moreover, if you want to see love in its purest form, then look at God. Why? God is the origin of love. If you don’t understand love, you won’t understand God, but if you don’t understand God, you will never understand real love. God is the origin of love. What about Jesus? We know that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of sin, sickness, and death (1 Peter 2:24), and that He made us into righteousness before God. Isn’t that amazing? Even though we are far from perfect, the blood of Jesus has cleansed us and made us perfect before Him. |
| 1 | John talks a lot about love, but recently I have been chewing (meditating, thinking about) on the statement of because as He is, so are we... That is powerful. As He is, so we are too! Ask yourself, how is Jesus. Is he buried in a slum somewhere? No, He rose above his humble beginnings in a carpenter’s house. Is He dead and buried? No, He is alive and well, speaking and working in the lives of His people. “As He is, so are we…” that is awesome. You don’t have to be discouraged because He is not discouraged. You don’t have to be poor, because He is not poor. You don’t need to suffer, because He took all our suffering (Isaiah 53:3-5) and is not suffering. You don’t have to be depressed because in God’s presence is fullness of joy! As He is, so we are. Negativity is contagious. When you are around people that are always talking about bad things, always seeing the downside and never the upside, you can catch it just like a cold. Some people will tell you Jesus suffered so you have to suffer as well. Hogwash. Don’t buy that! If Jesus suffered for no reason, if you are supposed to accept what ever comes, why does Jesus teach us to pray, Father ‘Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…’? You and I are to be light in the darkness, salt to the earth, above and not beneath, the head and not the tail, the lender and not the borrower, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s own special people. If you feel you are in the spiritual valley today, don’t stay there. Pick yourself up and be like Jesus, because as He is, so are we in this world. We have the victory! |
