The Book of Daniel is a key book in the Bible that every Christian should understand. Not only does it talk about what was happening in that generation we also see prophecies (predictions) of what is to come. Through it we see that everyone is going to have challenges on this earth filled with unbelief and strife. Daniel chapter 3 takes us to Babylon, where the kings had forsaken God and the nation was adrift from following the Almighty God and His ways.
Despite the interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the supernatural miracle of Daniel not only knowing the King’s dream but also being about to interpret it was forgotten. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (with local names Belteshazzar, Shadrach. Meshach, and Abednego) did not follow the religions of the land of captivity and continued to follow God. Nebuchadnezzar became full of himself and built an idol to himself telling his subjects to worship this 27 meter tall image. All the citizens were told to fall down and worship the man-made idol when the music played or be burned alive. God calls us to worship Him only. In Daniel 3 we’ll see if by faith you don’t bow to false Gods you will not be harmed.
