What does the Bible say about the authority of the believer? Many Christians do not truly understand what authority we have. The authority we possess as believers in Christ empowers us to live victoriously, influence our surroundings positively, and declare truth in our lives that changes our circumstances and the world around us. By recognizing the authority given to committed Christians, we embrace our identity and responsibility as followers of the Messiah Jesus Christ.
Recognizing our identity in Christ is the first step toward understanding the authority of the believer. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we become new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). This transformation grants us a special place in God’s family, and with it comes the authority to act as His representatives on Earth. In understanding this identity, we realize that we are heirs to God’s promises and can confidently claim our rights through faith. Our belief in this identity emboldens us to walk in the authority given to us, making it crucial to live out our faith authentically and boldly.
