One cool thing about traveling the world is the chance to meet other joyful Christians around the world. When you are traveling to find a healthy church filled with the Holy Spirit and people who love God, it’s not always as easy as doing a search for ‘Christian Church’ with the city or country name included in your internet search. Many times you don’t know what you’re going to get if you just show up at some particular gathering. How can you find a great church?
Recently, pastors from the United States came to Japan. They wanted to connect with a healthy church of strong faith like their church back home in the US. Not just any church, but a church that believes the Bible, has the power of the Holy Spirit, and loves God. To find a great church this what they did-
• Look for a church that has more than just one worship service. Are there any Bible studies, are there any weekly prayer meetings, what does their church calendar look like?
• Does their website, or video channels have any testimonies of people getting healed, delivered, or any other super natural moves of God in their church family?
• How does their lead pastor sound? Listen to a recent message by the man or woman of God in charge. Is it positive, faith-filled, and encouraging people to go deeper with Jesus?
• What about the praise & worship? Do you see the Holy Spirit in that music that the church generates each week?
If you want to be a committed Christian, you need to be in God’s house every week. People who hunger and thirst for the things of God shall be totally satisfied. Jesus promises us not only eternal life, but abundant life as well (John 10:10). Find a church that preaches the full Gospel, and get your family there every week. One word from God, and you will never be the same.
